Connecticut’s fifth official ceremony marking the anniversary of the losses on Sept. 11, 2001, will be held Thursday, Sept. 7, at 5:30 p.m. at the 9/11 Living Memorial at Westpor’s Sherwood Island State Park, Gov. M. Jodi Rell announced today.
The 9/11 Living Memorial overlooks Long Island Sound and is inscribed with the names of Connecticut residents who lost their lives.
Members of public are invited and encouraged to attend this official state ceremony in observance of the anniversary, the governor’s office said.
Westport First Selectman Gordon Joseloff will lead town officials at the ceremony.
