Officers arrested a Norwalk man on drug charges and violating probation after he was found intoxicated and yelling, police said today.
Police responded around 10 p.m. Tuesday to the man who was yelling about missing a bus in the area of BarTaco, 20 Wilton Road, police said.
“The officers located the male walking in the intersection of Post Road East and Wilton Road,” Lt. David Farrell said.
“The male, identified as Cesar Torres, stated he was upset about missing a bus and was yelling to himself.”
Farrell said that a record check of Torres, 34, showed he had an active warrant out for his arrest for violation of probation.
“He was placed in handcuffs, then searched by the officers,” Farrell said.
“As they began to search him, he stated he had a needle in his right cargo pocket. Torres also had two small glassine folds in his left cargo pocket which were immediately identifiable as heroin.”
Torres was held in lieu of a $40,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
