Westport Boy Scout Troop 100’s Eagle Court of Honor today celebrated three Eagle scouts at a ceremony at Christ & Holy Trinity Church. Each scout (l-r) Aaron J. Samuels, Cole T. Moyer and John G. Foley is a junior at Staples High School. For Samuels’ Eagle Scout project, he built a shed for Earthplace’s pond studies program, Moyer worked with the Klein Auditorium in Bridgeport to improve the safety and functionality of the parking lot surrounding its 1,400-seat historic theater built in the 1930s, and Foley led a team of 19 youths and seven adults in the demolition of the asphalt courtyard outside Gillespie Center, the Homes With Hope food pantry and homeless shelter, to prepare for the installation of a new patio and paved walkway. Congratulations to Aaron, Cole and Jack - three perfect examples of what it means to be an Eagle Scout. You have all given so much to your family, Troop and community through Scouting and we are lucky to call you Westporters. I’m thrilled to have been your Scoutmaster these past several years and am excited to see what next challenges you will conquer.
I’m so proud of you and wish you the very best in all future endeavors.
