Officers arrested a Westport man on drug and risk of injury to a child charges for having heroin in the same room as his 2-year-old nephew, police said today.
Danny Frazier, 38, of 1655 Post Road East, was arrested on a warrant at Norwalk Superior Court Thursday where he had appeared on another charge.
According to Lt. David Farrell, the Westport charges date back to an incident in December stemming from the report of a missing 2-year-old. It was learned at the time that the child had been taken by his uncle, Frazier.
“While the officers were in the home on the date of the complaint, they observed a clear plastic cigarette wrapper with a small amount of brownish powder inside on Danny Frazier’s bed,” Farrell said.
“The substance tested positive for heroin and weighed 5 grams. It was evident that the 2-year-old was also in the bedroom with the narcotics.”
Frazier who was in court and on another charge, was processed for the Westport charges the same day. He was held on $10,000 bond.
