Westport police, monitoring a stolen car broadcast from the Norwalk Police, pulled over the suspect vehicle at Exit 17 on Thursday, arresting its driver for second-degree larceny.

Victor Diaz, 23, of 65 Ridgebrook Drive, Bridgeport, was also charged for having a court ordered re-arrest warrant for failure to appear from a previous, unrelated case, according to Capt. Vincent Penna.

Diaz was released after posting a $5,000 bond for the Westport charges and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Monday, Aug. 4.

He is also scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court on Tuesday, Aug. 5, for the failure to appear charge for which he was released on a $2,500 bond, police said.
