Westport officers arrested a Trumbull man Tuesday evening for driving under the influence (DUI) and evading responsibility after they said he struck a vehicle in the Tarry Lodge restaurant parking lot at 30 Charles St. and fled.
Based on information from witnesses, police located the suspect vehicle in Lot 5 of the Saugatuck train station and said it was driven by Shin Miyoshi, 58. The Westport Weston Family YMCA identifies Shin Miyoshi on its website as its chief financial officer since 2005.
“Officers reported Miyoshi smelled of an alcoholic beverage, and he was unsteady on his feet,” said Lt. David Farrell.
Miyoshi failed all standard field sobriety tests, was taken into custody and refused to submit to a breathalyzer test, Farrell said.
He was released after posting a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Monday, Jan. 5.
