Police Chief: ‘Incivility Breeds More Incivility”

WestportNow.com Image
With the Westport jewelry robbery-murder investigation “more or less resolved” with the Spanish suicide of the suspected killer, Police Chief Dale Call today turned his attention to incivility in Westport in a talk to the Westport Rotary Club at the Inn at Longshore. “We see a lot of lack of civility in town and it drives a lot of our complaints,” he said. “Incivility breeds more incivility.” As to the murder investigation, he said federal investigators had limited him in what he could say but added: “I don’t think we could be any prouder of the work that a lot of people have done on this. If anything, it’s been a textbook case on how different law enforcement agencies can work together.” (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com

If you don’t believe the chief. Just go to the CVS on post road and soak the incivility in.

Incivility at stop signs and stop lights is horrendous. Drivers ignore the ban on hand held devices at the same time they blow through stop signs and lights. Some one is going to be killed….

Bob, that’s b/c you’re interrupting their extremely vital phone calls by being either in the crosswalk or in front of them.  The road belongs to them!!!  They’re entitled to it and allowed to be on the phone w/o handheld devices b/c the law does not apply to them!!  It does, however apply to you and I.

For those who can’t figure it out, the above is sarcastic.

The Chief hit the nail on the proverbial head.  Kudo’s to him for saying what needed to be said!!
