The Westport Country Playhouse annual gala in September will honor actress Phylicia Rashad, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Claire Huxtable on “The Cosby Show.”

In 2004, she became the first black woman to win the Tony Award for a dramatic lead role in the Broadway revival of “A Raisin in the Sun.” Last season, she directed the Playhouse production of this play that closed the 2012 season.
The Monday, Sept. 16 event will feature Broadway talent as well as a pre-show cocktail party and a dinner afterwards. Tickets range from $250 to $2,500.
Benefactor level, at $2,500 per person, includes a cocktail party, highest priority seating at performance, post-performance dinner with the evening’s stars, and an invitation to a Benefactor Preview Party at a private home.
Patron level, at $1,000 per person, includes a cocktail party, priority seating at performance, and post-performance dinner with the evening’s stars. A limited number of show-only Supporter tickets are available at $250 per person. Corporate sponsorship packages are available.
