UPDATE The 120-year-old Walk Bridge in Norwalk failed to close properly today, disrupting Metro-North service on the New Haven Line.
Metro-North said tonight that New Haven Line train service has resumed on three of the four tracks over the draw bridge.
“Customers should expect delays up to 20 minutes for the remainder of tonight,” an advisory said.
It said the remaining track is out of service for the catenary replacement project.
“Regular Sunday service is expected and the bridge will remain closed to river traffic until further notice,” Metro-North said.
The bridge has malfunctioned repeatedly in recent years, prompting announcement of federal and state funding to replace it at a cost of $450 million.
