Norman D. Harris, 58

Norman D. Harris, of New Milford, previously of Danbury, a U.S Postal Service employee in Westport for 30 years, died Tuesday, April 27, in Kent, Conn.

Husband of Neuza (Candida), Harris was born in Danbury Dec. 26, 1951, a son of Anita (Hubbard) Harris and the late Pearly Harris, Jr.

He attended Danbury schools and in addition to being a U.S Postal Service employee for 30 years in Westport, he was a part-time employee of Costco of Norwalk.

In early years, Mr. Harris was employed at Amphenol of Danbury. He enjoyed bowling, golf and was the “life of any gathering, a very giving man.”

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three stepsons, Esdras Nazareth, Daniela Nazareth Batista and Juliano Nazareth; two sisters, Sandra Harris and Yvonne Harris; three brothers, Donald Harris, Larry Harris and Steven Harris; sisters-in-law, Juanita Bush Harris and Betty Jean Skates; a nephew, Jordan Harris; a niece, Sonya Skates Milton; two step-grandchildren, Sarah and Marianna; and a host of extended family members and friends.

In addition to his father, Mr. Harris was predeceased by a brother, Leon.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 4, at 11 a.m. in the New Hope Baptist Church, 10 Dr. Aaron B. Samuels Boulevard, Danbury with The Rev. Ivan S. Pitts, Sr. officiating.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends at the New Hope Baptist Church on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
