Westport neighborhood groups will be gathering at Town Hall for a meeting to discuss a variety of issues.
Partrick Wetlands Preservation Fund officials are organizing the meeting slated for 8 p.m. on June 5.
Matthew Mandell, Partrick Wetlands Preservation Fund director, said there are many things going on in Westport, but each group has a lot in common with the others.
“It’s time for us to come together and talk to see what we can work together to do,” he said.
Mandell said he learned while working with Norwalk neighborhood groups that they meet regularly to discuss issues facing each of them.
The groups need to unify so they can work better to protect their neighborhoods and Westport, he said.
“There could be at least a dozen groups,” he said. “There are already about seven groups coming.”
There may be smaller groups that people don’t know about, Mandell said, but the event may also encourage other neighborhoods to form their own group.
