Registration is now open for Makers for the third annual Westport Mini Maker Faire at the Westport Library and on Jesup Green, the library announced.
Makers are amateur as well as professional artists, biotechnology and biochemistry researchers, craftspeople, designers, educators, engineers, entrepreneurs, hobbyists, inventors, scientists and tinkerers of all ages.
The Westport Mini Maker Faire is the first and largest Maker Faire in Connecticut, and the biggest single-day event in downtown Westport. The 2013 festivities brought in 3,500 attendees from all over the region, and more than 4,500 are anticipated for this year, organizers said.
The all-day, family-friendly, event takes place Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Makers are provided an exhibition space to showcase their talent and process. The most captivating exhibits feature innovation, have a hands-on component and teach attendees something new.
