Metro-North said it began operating on a Sunday schedule beginning at 9 a.m. today, accommodating the light ridership the railroad has seen so far this morning.
This schedule will be augmented with additional trains out of Grand Central between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., an advisory said.
In a mid-day advisory, the railroad said less than half the usual number of weekday customers used Metro-North during the morning rush hour.
It said the additional trains operating to augment the Sunday schedule today would include the following Connecticut-related trains on the New Haven Line:
Local trains (making all stops from Stamford to New Haven):
4:07 p.m., 5:07 p.m., 6:07 p.m. and 7:07 p.m.
Semi-Express trains (making all stops from South Norwalk to New Haven):
4 p m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m.
Semi-Express trains (stopping at Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, South Norwalk, Westport, Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford, Milford, New Haven):
4:34 p.m., 5:34 p.m., 6:34 p.m. and , 7:34 p.m.
Service to Grand Central at all times and service from Grand Central after 8 p.m. will be operating on a regular Sunday schedule.
