UPDATE Metro-North said New Haven Line trains are now operating on or close to schedule after earlier experiencing delays of 10 - 15 minutes due to weather-related equipment shortages.

Not quite so. The 8:56am was cancelled meaning that people had to wait one and half hours for a train.
There were no other announcements other than the train was cancelled. Nothing saying the next train is coming at X, if it was at all. And of course there was no person in the ticket booth the ask what’s up.
The whole situation is out of hand. The fleet is old, the new cars have failed testing and there seems to be no solution on the horizon.
Oh yeah, today is the last day of the month, be sure to buy your new commuter ticket for the great service being offered.
I give the railroad workers and crews all the credit in the world for keeping tracks open and trains running under these weather conditions and considering the age and shape of the equipment and infrastructure. I give CTDOT and Metro North poobahs zero credit for communications. Just pathetic. Riders give them the benefit of the doubt; in the poohbahs leave us mostly in the cold and dark, literally and figuratively..
