Mary Jankowski of Norwalk, a former Westport resident and wife of the late Hipolit Jankowski, died Nov. 22, at home. She was 100.
She was born on Dec. 25, 1912 in Westport to the late Nelly Rankewicz, and Stella and Stephen Harelik.
She was raised in Milford and attended schools in Bridgeport. She married her husband in 1933 and moved to Fairfield where she raised their four children.
She worked at Carnation Gardens in Westport for more than 30 years. After her husband died in 1963, she moved to Milford and later to Norwalk where she lived the past 20 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Wanda Santorelli (Carmine), Barbara Santorelli (Joseph) all of Norwalk, and Ellie Hess (Larry) of Spring Hill, Fla. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son Edward, her sister Lila Teshoney and her brothers Stanley, Charles and Joseph Harelik.
Calling hours will be Friday, Nov. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, Norwalk with interment to follow at St. Michael cemetery, Stratford.
