Madeline Agnes DeMace, 91, of Stratford, formerly of Westport, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.
A native of Westport, Madeline was born in Bridgeport daughter of the late Dominick and Isabel (Lanzo) DeMace.
She was a 1936 graduate of Staples High School, a former employee of the Dorr Company, and a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
Following her discharge from the Army, she went to work for the U.S. State Department where she traveled extensively for business. Her love for travel continued in retirement traveling both domestic and foreign.
Survivors include one niece, Mary J. Ludovicy of Westport, two nephews, Michael Adinolfi of Ladson, S.C., and Jack Adinolfi of Florida, and several grand nieces and nephews. Madeline was also predeceased by two sisters, Marie Montano and Beatrice Adinolfi and one nephew, Paul Adinolfi.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, meeting directly at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave.
Interment with full military honors will follow mass in Willowbrook Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
The Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
