Longshore Boat Launch Operator Sentenced in Sex Assault

Jeffrey Susa, 48, of Monroe, who operated the a boat launching business at the E.R. Strait Maria at Westport’s Longshore Park, has been sentenced in Stamford Superior Court to five months in prison and three year’s probation for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

He was also ordered Friday to attend sex offender counseling sessions and substance abuse treatment, reports state.

Susa reportedly took the minor to dinner and supplied with alcohol before sexually assaulting her on his boat on Aug. 23, 2013, according to reports. He was arrested on Oct. 11. (See WestportNow Oct. 13, 2013)

According to reports based on court documents, Sousa had been investigated by police in 2007 and 2009 for sexually explicit behavior toward another minor. Though the Westport Police Department had applied for an arrest warrant, it was never issued.
