Westport Police arrested a local woman on narcotics charges Sunday, following a motor vehicle stop, police said today.
“Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop, the officer’s interactions with the occupants lead him to believe that they were not being truthful about narcotics being present in the vehicle,” said Capt. Samuel Arciola.
He said a police service dog from the Norwalk Police Department later arrived on scene, indicating the presence of a narcotic odor.
“A subsequent search revealed that the passenger was in possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia,” Arciola said.
Karen Davidson, 57 of 17 High St., was charged with possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia and was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
