The second in a series of evening environmental lectures will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the new Nature Center at Westport’s Sherwood Island State Park.
Doug Williams will talk about integrated pest management and best practices for tree and shrub care. A licensed and certified arborist, he has been with Bartlett Tree Experts for 25 years.
The lectures are free, and after 6 p.m.entrance to the park is free. The new Nature Center behind the East Beach is a partnership between the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection and the Friends of Sherwood Island State Park.
This summer, it is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Naturalists and summer interns are offering nature walks and morning and afternoon programs for kids. For more information, visit the Friends Web site: www.friendsofsherwoodisland.org.
