Harry D. Rose, III, 57

Harry David Rose III of Los Angeles, a former Westport resident, died June 24. He was 57.

Born Feb. 22, 1959 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Harry David Rose Jr. and Florence Joy Greist, he grew up in Westport. He graduated with a B.A. from Westminster College in Pennsylvania.

His career began at The Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington D.C. He later moved to New York City and finally settled in Los Angeles.

His career spanned 30 years of acting and directing. He was particularly renowned for his prolific work at the Colony Theater in Burbank, directing more than 50 plays.

He is survived by his siblings Martha Joy Rose and Darton Scott Rose, his sons Harry David Rose IV and Jackson Dillard Rose, his ex-wife Denise Dillard, and his numerous nieces and nephews as well as the families of his friends.

A memorial will be held at the Colony Theater. Burbank, on Thursday, July 7 at 6:30 p.m.
