Getting Together Before the Show

WestportNow.com Image
Getting together before tonight’s opening night Levitt Pavilion performance were (l-r) mother and daughter Freda Welsh, Levitt executive director, and Carleigh, communications manager, Janet Plotkin, chairman of the board, and Mystic Bowie. He and his band entertained with a mix of reggae, zydeco and blues. Before he took the stage, Jamaican-born Bowie, a Norwalk resident, said, “I see a lot of people here tonight that follow our group. The most requested song in our repertoire is always ‘Music is My Drug of Choice.’” He said tonight is the first time he has been on the Levitt stage during the regular season, having appeared in a 2009 Levitt fundraiser for Haiti relief.
