The Westport Country Playhouse Gala co-chairs, Cindy and John Vaccaro (l), Ann Sheffer and Bill Scheffler and gala honoree Liz Morten (2nd r) reminisce about the 1931 play “Green Grow the Lilacs”at the Dressing Room restaurant where the co-chairs met to review plans for Monday’s gala. “Lilacs” was the inspiration for the 1943 Rodgers and Hammerstein blockbuster musical “Oklahoma!” The benefit gala, “An Enchanted Evening – The Music of Richard Rodgers,” includes special guests Christopher Plummer and Stephen Sondheim with performances by James Naughton and his daughter-in-law Kelli O’Hara who recently starred in the Broadway revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “South Pacific.” (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
