George Moreo, 60

George Moreo of Westport died Dec. 29 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 60.

Born Dec. 10, 1954 in Queens, N.Y., he was the son of the late Thomas and Grace (Rotchford) Moreo. He was a graduate of the Pratt Institute and was able to explore the world through many different opportunities. He was the director of visual merchandising for Data Display Systems.

A Westport resident for 24 years, he was a member of Assumption Church Parish and coached Westport Youth Soccer for many years. He was an avid boater, fisherman, a lover of all the arts, and loved the sport of volleyball.

Survivors in addition to his wife Dorette of 34 years include one son; Dillon Moreo of Westport, daughter; Nicole Moreo of New York, N.Y., one brother; Dominick Moreo of Hampton Bay, N.Y., three sisters; Laura Amara of Palm Beach, Fla., Ellen Accardi of Garden City N.Y., and Grace Hamilton of Tampa Fla., and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 11 a.m. meeting directly at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., for a Mass of Christian Burial. The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, on Friday, Jan. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m.
