George H. Marks Sr., 96, WWII and Police Veteran

George H. Marks Sr. (r) a World War II veteran and 26-year Westport Police Department veteran, died Thursday at Norwalk Hospital at age 96. He was Westport Memorial Day parade grand marshal in 2010, sharing the honor with his son, George H. Marks Jr., an almost 35-year veteran of the Westport Police Department and U.S. Navy veteran. George was a vital part of Westport.  His many years of volunteer work at Norwalk Hospital in addition to his service on the police force offered so much to so many of us.  He will be missed.

My sympathies to his son George Jr and his family whom I remember well.
