Francine Cook, a longtime resident of Westport, died Oct. 11 at her home in Daniel Island, S.C. after a battle with cancer. She was 67.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1949 in New York, N.Y. daughter to Minerva Fayden and Frank Sawdon.
She devoted her time raising her two sons and enjoyed doing this in Westport for 35 years. She enjoyed her gardens, art, decorating and needlepoint.
She lived life to the fullest, and on her terms, never missing an opportunity that life brought her. Those that knew her, knew her strong spirit and laughter were infectious and one-of-kind. She was a sincere joy to be around and always found the good in those she met.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, William M. Cook, and her sister Lynn and brother Stuart. Survivors include her two sons Christopher Cook of Daniel Island, S.C. and Burke Cook and his wife Marybeth of Daniel Island, S.C. and two grandchildren, Boden and McClain Cook; and niece Whitney Raith and her children Sawyer and McClain Raith of Washington Depot, Conn.
Private services will be held.
