A New York man engaged in a physical confrontation with a youngster in a car on a Westport street and who “acted menacingly” to passersby who attempted to intervene was arrested Saturday on I-95 in Greenwich, police said today.
Kenneth Edwards, 30, of 7 Knoll Place, Glen Cove, N.Y. was charged with breach of peace and threatening. He posted a $2,500 bond for a Norwalk Superior Court appearance today, police said.
Police said they received multiple complaints from passersby of a “domestic disturbance” involving an adult and youngster taking place inside the car in the Greens Farms area. When they attempted to intervene, the driver “acted menacingly” toward them, police said.
The car fled the scene before police arrived. A description of the car was broadcast to area departments and State Police stopped the vehicle at Exit 2 on I-95 in Greenwich, police said.
