Eleanor Lawson, a longtime Westporter, died Jan. 28. She was 78.
A Westport resident since 1968, she studied art through the Famous Artists School of Westport, and is best remembered for her collage artwork that was shown in local galleries, for her uniquely mischievous sense of humor, and for her enduring sense of joy and levity in all things, her family said.
Those who talked too much may also remember being told to “Take a breath.”
She will be missed by her husband, Richard Lawson, of Westport, her husband of 53 years, by her two sons, Marcus Lawson, of Baltimore, and Alec Lawson and his wife Kathleen, of Darien, and by the many friends she made along the way.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, Jan. 31, directly at Assumption Church 98 Riverside Ave. Interment will follow in Willowbrook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY, 10018, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601.
