Coyote Victim

WestportNow.com Image
Westport firefighters help clean up after a one-car accident shortly after 8 a.m. today in the southbound lane of the Merritt Parkway a half mile before Exit 42 in Westport. The woman driver, who was taken to the hospital, said she swerved to avoid a coyote that was in the roadway, according to Assistant Chief William Dingee. He said the vehicle then went off the roadway onto the grass, then back across the road into the guardrail, and then back off the roadway onto the shoulder. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Contributed photo

It bears repeating. NEVER swerve to avoid an animal.
