Cops: Woman in Wait Had Gun and No Permit

Officers arrested Trumbull woman on gun charges after she rang a Lilac Lane, off Hales Road, doorbell at midnight and later parked on the road with her lights off, police said today.

Lauren Abriola, 52, turned herself in on an active warrant at Police Headquarters Tuesday in relation to the incident that had occurred on March 24, according to Lt. David Farrell. She was charged with carrying a pistol or revolver without a permit and having a weapon in a motor vehicle.

“While checking the area, officers located a vehicle parked on Lilac Lane, with its lights off and occupied by a female operator, identified as Lauren Abriola,” Farrell said. “While speaking with Abriola, officers learned she had a handgun in the vehicle.”

He said the firearm was seized and a warrant was submitted to Norwalk Superior Court because Abriola did not have a carry permit.

She was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday, May 4.

This story has been corrected in the first paragraph to show the incident was on Lilac Lane not Violet Lane.
