Constance “Connie” Irene (Osberg) Quigley, 90, a former Westport schoolteacher and recently living in Mattapoisett, Mass., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 22 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Mass.
She was the wife of the late Dr. Charles Joseph Quigley.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Philip and Grace (Knowlton) Osberg, she previously lived in Salem, N.H. and Westport, Conn., before settling in Mattapoisett for the past 15 years.
Mrs. Quigley was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and Bridgewater State College. In earlier years, she worked as an elementary school teacher in Acushnet, Mass. and in later years taught in Westport.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, vacationing with her family in Maine, and she had a love for all animals. Her joy in life was spending time with her loving family.
Survivors include daughters, Joan Quigley of Woburn, Mass., Jill Quigley Roberge and her husband, John Roberge of Monroe, Conn,; two sons, Dr. Charles J. Quigley, Jr., of N. Kingstown, R.I. and his wife, Diane Quigley and Clarkson P. Quigley of Wilbraham, Mass. and his wife, Mary; seven grandchildren, Tracy Winslow, Gregory Romans, Kelly Roberge, Colleen Carlson, Alison Quigley, Lauren Quigley and Charles Quigley; two great-grandchildren, Lena Winslow and Cole Carlson; a nephew, Philip Besse of Fairhaven, Mass., and a niece, Lorinda Oliviera of West Palm Beach, Fla.
She was the sister of the late Louise Besse and sister-in-law of the late Raymond Besse, Hester Quigley and Robert Quigley.
Private arrangements are in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven, Mass.
