Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. and the plunge, at 11 a.m.
Individuals and teams should register online in advance on the Special Olympics Web site. Registration packets may be picked up at Target Training, 772 Post Road East. For more information, call (203)380-9990.
Participants will plunge into the chilly water to raise awareness and funding for Special Olympics.
Towels, water shoes and beach blankets are recommended for plungers, ages 8 or over. Registration and signed waiver forms are required and the minimum donation to plunge is $50. Waivers for those under 18 must be signed by a parent/guardian.
Hot soups and hot chocolate will be provided by Bob’s Discount Furniture and music by 95.9 The Fox. Spectators are welcome.
Last year, the event drew 452 plungers and raised more than $170,000 to support Special Olympics’ year-round sports training programs and competitions for individuals with intellectual disabilities and their peers.
