Sherri Daley of Fairfield ponders her Christmas tree choice today with Ben Simons, a worker at the Connecticut Audubon Society - H. Smith Richardson Christnas Tree Farm at 16 Sasco Creek Road, Westport. The 12 acres of Christmas trees at the 75-acre preserve opened for business this weekend and will continue daily except Mondays until Dec. 24. Louis Bacchiocchi, manager of the farm, said about 75 trees were sold today and 750 to 800 are expected to be sold by Christmas. He said it takes about 12 years to grow a tree from a seedling to an 8-footer.  Customers can cut down their own tree or have it done for them. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) WestportNow.com photo
