Charlotte Forst, 84

Charlotte Forst of Weston, wife of Karl H. Forst, died Sept. 25 at home. She was 84.

Born in Mohacs, Hungary, she fled Hungary in 1956 and immigrated to Canada with her sister, Clara Nadas.  She was introduced to Karl and moved to the United States, finally settling in Weston.

She had three loves:  her family, her career as a Realtor, and her outside interests. There was nothing that she would not do for her “boys”; her husband, her son and her two grandsons, her family said.  They were the joy of her life.

As a highly respected Realtor of 35 years with a very loyal following, she was the epitome of integrity, caring and being totally knowledgeable.  She served on several Board of Realtors committees.

Flowers and gardening brought her endless joy as did the arts – classical music and opera.  She loved to sew, fix things, paint, play bridge and bake.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Ralph Forst and his fiancé, Dominique Convertito of Bridgeport; her grandsons, Benjamin and Karl Forst of Fairfield, and Joseph Convertito; her sister, Clara of Toronto, Canada and her nephew, John Vertes of Calgary, Canada; and Cathy Prins-Forst of Fairfield.

Friends are invited to greet her family on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 2-5 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfield.  A short service will take place at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlotte’s memory to The Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 or the Norma Pfriem Cancer Institute, 111 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT 06824.
