A Stratford woman who was driving, talking on her cell phone, and smoking marijuana was arrested on narcotics charges after officers discovered 6.3 grams of cocaine in her purse, police said today.
According to Lt. David Farrell, Jacqueline Hernandez, 34, was stopped Friday at 5 p.m. after an officer saw her talking on her cell phone while driving.
Officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle, so a K9 officer was requested to the scene,” Farrell said.
Prior to the police dog’s arrival, Hernandez admitted to having cocaine in her purse, he said.
“The narcotics were seized and tested positive for cocaine with a total weight of 6.3 grams,” Farrell said.
Charged with the possession of narcotics, Hernandez was held in lieu of $2,500 bond.
