An overflow crowd today welcomed the first program in the Westport Public Library’s “Spoken Word” series which celebrates Ancient Greece. Mark Schenker, associate dean at Yale College, gave the opening lecture titled, ”How the Greeks Invented Tragic Drama.” There will be three more lectures—on Tuesday with Ray Lurie – “Homer’s Art of War;” May 7 with Daniel Cruson – “The Architecture of Greece;” and May 9 – Staged Reading of Medea by members of the Theatre Artists Workshop.  All the programs will begin at 7:30 p.m. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Phyllis Groner for WestportNow.com
