Thank you, WestportNow, for memorializing Marian’s beautiful smile. Such a great photo by Matt Mandel of Marian’s special day!
Marian loved attending the Brown Bag lunches at Town Hall. She and I first met at a Brown Bag lunch nine years ago. We celebrated her birthdays each year with her Brown Bag friends.
Marian learned how to use a computer in her late 80’s. She became quite proficient and was an avid reader of WestportNow.
Marian enjoyed reading – and writing to – the local newspapers. She was a constant advocate for local causes. She never hesitated to share her concerns – often by e-mail – about senior citizens, the budget, traffic, parking, the library, etc. Marian loved animals and gardening and her family and friends.
Marian’s family is respecting her desire not to have a memorial service. Friends who want to reminisce might want to view Marian’s website at http://mabee.freeservers.com/ . Photos and newspaper clippings document her singing career, her family and even her early days on the UCLA pistol team.
Marian was a special person. I miss her already.
