Black & White English Setter Mikey

WestportNow.com Image

UPDATE: Mikey, a black & white English Setter, was found dead on Sunday, April 11. He apparently swam to one of the small islands off the Westport shore. He had run away from a yard in the Longshore area Thursday night, March 31. Our sympathies to Mikey’s family.

Dear Mikey’s family,
I’m so sorry for your loss.  I have an English Setter myself and know how they love to run.  My heart goes out to all of you and be assured that Mikey is at Rainbow Bridge with all of our departed pets watching over us.  Please know that I’ve made a donation to the CT Humane Society in Mikey’s memory.  ((((((((((Mikey’s Family))))))))))))

Westport Animal Shelter Advocates would like to thank Officer Peter D’Amico of WESTPORT ANIMAL CONTROL that searched diligently for days trying to find Mikey.  We are so sorry Mikey’s story had a tragic ending, and we know that, like Mikey’s family, he was devastated.  We appreciate all Officer D’Amico, his staff and the volunteers of Westport Animal Control do for the residents of Westport and their cherished pets.
