Barbeque Restaurant Opens in Onion Alley Space

Just in time for the holiday season, a new barbeque restaurant has opened on Westport’s Main Street where Onion Alley was a mainstay since 1985 until its closing earlier this year. (See WestportNow Jan. 7, 2004). Bobby Q’s Barbeque & Grill offers barbeque cooking along with salads, sandwiches and wraps. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) photo

As a devoted BBQ junkie I have been waiting anxiously for Bobby Q’s to open. You cannot imagine my disappointment upon reading the menu outside the restuarant to find that a bbq sandwich goes for $13 and ribs (hold onto your wallet) a whopping $23! If I need to satiate my pork cravings, I’ll fly them in from KC and save a buck or two. Thanks, but no thanks.

What are you a miser?I ate here today and the place was outstanding. $13 dollars is not that bad at all and $23 isn’t a whopping price tag either for rips. This resturant is quite good and it comes highly recommended.

I would never use the term “miser” for someone that doesn’t want to blow $13 on a BBQ sandwich. There are those that are conspicuous consumers and those that are not. In Westport, most people don’t think twice about the prices. We forget that the average American would be amazed by our cost of living.
