The Westport Arts Center has announced the eight artists selected for its 11th annual summer member artist exhibition, “Selects 2017.” Three are from Westport.
The exhibition will be on view from Friday to Saturday, Sept. 2 with an opening reception on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The jurors reviewed over 100 entries and selected the following eight artists to participate in the exhibition: Eric Chiang (Westport); Louise Flax (Norwalk); William Glaser (Weston); Tracy Hoffman (Chappaqua, New York); Linda Lindroth (New Haven) Xiao Mai Kong (Westport); Richard Silverspoon (Hartford), and Jarvis Wilcox (Westport).
The exhibit was juried by Charlotte Strick, art editor of The Paris Review literary magazine and Claire Williams Martinez, former chapter president of the American Institute of Graphic Design in Chicago.
The jurors are also the co-founders and principals of the Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary design firm, Strick&Williams, where they collaborate with cultural institutions and clients in the arts, education, publishing and non-profits.
The exhibition includes a wide diversity of works and technique, including photography, painting, archival pigment prints, and other mixed media, an announcement said.
