Two Bridgeport men who used a cinder block to smash the glass door of Subway at 940 Post Road East were arrested Wednesday, police said today.
Lt. David Farrell said Roman Nieves, 37, and Keron Nixon, 34, had been arrested for similar burglaries in other towns.
Detectives followed up with Seymour, Stratford, Ansonia and Milford Police departments where the same type of burglaries occurred.
The suspects were interviewed and confessed to the Dec.17 Subway burglary in which a cash drawer containing $400 was taken, Farrell said.
With this information, detectives also interviewed both suspects for the attempted burglary that left pry marks on the door of Gaetano’s Deli at 1713 Post Road East, also on Dec. 17.
During the interview, Nieves and Nixon confessed to using a crowbar on the front door of Geatano’s. They said they fled when the alarm went off, Farrell said.
Charged with burglary, conspiracy, larceny and criminal mischief, each had his bond set at $50,000 and was transported to Norwalk Superior Court the day of the arrest.
