Officers arrested a Fairfield man for assault and violation of a protective order, police said today.
Steven Shulman, 21, met the victim in the parking lot at 44 Imperial Ave. on Thursday, where he hit the victim in the face, according to Lt. David Farrell.
“The victim reported suffering a bloody nose as a result of the assault,” Farrell said.
A warrant was issued for Schulman’s arrest, and he was arrested the next day at the Gillespie Center, the town’s homeless shelter, where he was found sleeping.
Charged with third-degree assault and violation of a protective order, he was held on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court today.
According to Farrell, Schulman had been previously arrested in August for striking the same victim in the leg.
