Anna Belle Avery of Westport died Feb. 20. She was 86.
Born in Sedalia, Missouri. on Sept. 25, 1928, she was the youngest of five daughters born to Virginia Boone and Edward Uffman.
She married Howard C. Avery and moved to Westport in 1946 where she made a home for her family for the remainder of her days.
She worked at Newstadt Jewelers in Norwalk for over 40 years. She was an avid reader, puzzler, gardener, and took great delight in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie Ann Sargent (spouse of Bill Sargent) and Nancy Marie Baloglu (spouse of Savas Baloglu), three grandchildren, Christina Holms (spouse of Christopher Holms), Brian Sargent (spouse of Tina Barbary) and Stephen Baloglu (spouse of Allison Chirdon); as well as her seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard C. Avery; and her four sisters.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Thursday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. meeting directly at the Greens Farms Congregational Church, 71 Hillandale Road. Interment will be private and take place in the Greens Farms upper cemetery at a latter date.
