A new bus shelter was erected in several hours today and is ready for use on Post Road East in front of Stop & Shop. Federal funds paid for most of the almost $8,000 cost while the Town of Westport contributed the cost of constructing the concrete pad for the Norwalk Transit District. There will be a ribbon cutting at the new facility on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) WestportNow.com photo

Congratulations..to the Westport Transit directors, the Norwalk Transit District and to the Town of Westport, especially the Human Services Dept. and Commission and the Public Works Dept.
This was a long time in coming but worth the wait.

As the chair of the RTM Transit Committee I am very pleased to see that this shelter is finally here. We look forward to future projects. Thanks to all that has been part of this effort.
