Agnes Humphreys, 96

Agnes “Peg” (Switter) Humphreys,  a lifelong resident of Westport and wife of the late Richard T. Humphreys, died Sept. 8, 2013. She was 96.

In 1917, she was born in her family residence to the late Michael and Edith Switter. She was an associate for many years with the Fairfield Store.

She is survived by her sister, Jo Gentile of Fairfield, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ignace, John, Stephen and Joseph Switter; and sisters, Anielia Zepko, Helen Roberts and Ann Bratusky.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Sept. 11,  at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Church in Westport. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfiel
