Officers arrested a Stratford woman who more than two years ago allegedly stole a coworker’s credit card at Westport Health Care, police said today.
Laurie Greene, 46, was arrested Friday on an active warrant at the Fairfield Police Department, where she was being held following a motor vehicle stop, said Lt. David Farrell.
According to Farrell, in December 2014 Greene stole the credit card out of a coworker’s purse at Westport Health Care, 1 Burr Road. Green then used the card at a Walgreens in Bridgeport, he said.
“Westport officers and the victim were able to positively identify Greene on the store surveillance footage,” Farrell said.
On the video, Greene is seen purchasing two gift cards totaling $209.
“Greene was actually given a ride to that exact Walgreens by the victim of this incident moments before the fraudulent transaction,” Farrell said.
“The victim did not know at that time that Greene had already stolen the card.”
Charged with credit card theft, sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy and illegal use of a credit card, Greene was held in lieu of a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Monday, April 4.
