I-95 Truck Fire in Westport Adds to Traffic Woes

WestportNow.com Image
UPDATE A flatbed tractor-trailer pulled off to the side of the northbound lane of I-95 near New Creek Road between Exits 18 and 19 in Westport tonight as its cab erupted in flames. The driver told Westport firefighters that he was traveling in the right side lane on a journey that took four hours due to the snowstorm starting from Exit 2 in Greenwich to where the vehicle came to a stop after he saw a red light appear on his dashboard. He then raised the hood and saw flames near the back side of the engine. He barely had time to grab important documents before the entire cab was on fire.
