Jackson was Adopted
Jackson. Little Black Dog Rescue
Jackson has been adopted. He is calm and sweet and his foster mom loves him. She was so impressed by his manners when arriving at their home. Jackson is one year old, about 35 lbs and was adopted from the same shelter he was just dumped at (most likely because he isn’t a puppy anymore). He literally comes up to hug you and sits and gives his paw. Jackson will make the right family very happy! Jackson found a home with the help of Little Black Dog Rescue.

Penny Was Adopted
Penny. Little Black Dog Rescue
Penny is a 14 lb Terrier mix who is a chunky monkey. She was found by a good Samaritan on the side of the road with cherry eye and malnourished. Her savior nursed her back to health and she had the eye surgery she needed and headed up North!
She loves to cuddle and to be held but will not hesitate to take a bone from a dog three times her size. Penny is sassy and playful and would make any family happy!
Zachary Found A Home
Zachary. Little Black Dog Rescue
Zachary is almost 6 months old and now has his forever home!
He was rescued by a local woman who couldn’t stand to see him euthanized in a Manhattan shelter and scooped him up to safety.
He was in bad shape and needed a lot of care. Thanks to his fairy dog-mother, Zachary is a playful, happy Shepherd / Border Collie who is great on the leash and crate-trained.
Portia Has A New Owner
Portia. Little Black Dog Rescue
Portia is a loving 8 year old Lab/terrier mix whose owner is dying and can no longer care for her. She has been tossed around from one house to the next and finally a kind woman in Fairfield took her in to give her a warm bed. She can’t speak highly enough about Portia and how loving, sweet and still playful she is. Portia is fine with cats and kids and now has a forever home. She was helped by Little Black Dog Rescue.
Sweet Belle Has Found A Home
Belle. Little Black Dog Rescue
Belle couldn’t be a sweeter girl! A petite Flat-Coated Retriever and maybe Border Collie, she loves to cuddle and loves to be loved.
She was tied up for the first part of her life (she is 18 months now) but her silky hair has grown back where it was once bare neck skin. She is shy at first and needs time to trust, but once she does her heart is yours. She loves the park and swimming, chasing birds and is great off-leash. She is a very special girl.

Dolce and Oscar Have Been Adopted
Oscar (7 years) and Dolce (10 years) are two adorable Papillons that have been adopted. They are very affectionate, sweet and quite handsome little fellows. They are active (love to go on walks), housebroken and you don’t have to ask them twice to “come to the table” for meal time. Because “the boys” are quite bonded they will need to be adopted together.

He has a wonderful personality and is very friendly and well trained. He is a big strong boy that loves to go for long walks. He also LOVES to be petted. And now, Max has found a home.

Jinger Has a New Home
Jinger. Westport Animal Control
Jinger has been adopted! Jinger is a 3-year-old Yorkie that came to the WASA as an owner surrender because of a landlord enforcing a no pet policy. She is friendly and likes to meet new people but is not a dog that constantly wants to be in your lap. Jinger had very little contact with other dogs prior to her foster life but is doing well with her new canine buddies after getting over her initial fear. She does appear to be housebroken and is used to going on walks to do “her business” rather than in a fenced-in yard. She would do best in an adult home or a home with older children that are willing to give her space until she becomes comfortable in her new home.

Summer Has A Home
Summer. Westport Animal Control
Summer has been adopted. She is rebounding nicely and enjoying her new-found freedom. She knows her basic commands and was housebroken very quickly. She has displayed no toy or food aggression and loves to chase the tennis ball. She is becoming socialized in regard to meeting new people but still takes a few minutes to warm up to people. However, she quickly accepts you into her circle and wants to follow you everywhere.

Boomer Has Found A Family
Boomer. Westport Animal Control
Boomer the 2-year-old beagle has been adopted He’s a sweet little fellow that is rebounding nicely after being abandoned in a parking lot in Westport. He is affectionate and is enjoying all the attention he is receiving from staff and volunteers. While you can’t see it in the photo, Boomer has a condition called micro-ophthalmia of his left eye diagnosed at his recent trip to Schulhof Animal Hospital in Westport. He may or may not have any eye tissue on his left side but it will be “cleaned out” and surgically sealed at the time of his neutering surgery which will be funded by Westport Animal Shelter Advocates (WASA). Boomer does appear to get along well with other dogs. Clearly this young fellow hasn’t had the best start in life but he is ready for a new, loving and forever home - and we’re ready to help him find it!
Milo and Molly Have been adopted
Milo and Molly were adopted! While they are very bonded with each other (and need to be adopted together) they bond very nicely - and quickly - with those that show them attention. They are very affectionate and lovable. Both walk nicely on their leashes and are housebroken. We hope they find their forever home - one filled with comfy pillows and beds for lounging - very soon. Both are spayed/neutered and up to date on their vet care

Cali Found A Forever Family
Cali. Westport Animal Control
Cali, not to be confused with the Cali that just won the Westport’s Top Dog contest, is a new resident of Westport Animal Control (Elaine Road, Westport, 203-341-5076). She is a very sweet little mixed breed pup (approximately 9 months of age) that is heartbroken at finding herself abandoned in a shelter. We are giving her lots of love, exercise and good food but she really wants a forever family. Although small, she is an active girl that loves to run and fetch. She is VERY housebroken too. Please call soon to meet our lovely golden Cali.
