Meet Lionel

lionel

Lionel
Lionel. Westport Animal Control

The sweetest, gentlest dogs don’t always fit in your lap, and we have the dog to prove it!  Lionel is a 120-pound mastiff-pit mix that lost his home when his Connecticut family lost theirs.  He is very affectionate, and we hope we can find him a home soon as he misses his family tremendously.  According to his previous owners, he is good with children and other dogs.  He is very housebroken, neutered and up to date on his vet care.  We love this big galumph, especially when he drinks water.  He sticks his whole face in the bowl and comes out smiling with his face dripping.  For additional information about Lionel, please call Westport Animal Shelter Advocates (WASA) at 203-557-0361 or send an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Say Hello to Bat

Bat

Bat
Meet Bat. Westport Animal Control

Bat is a 6 to 8-year-old chihuahua mix rescued from a CT animal control facility that is now being fostered by a WASA volunteer.  Life had not been good to this little guy when he was kicked to the curb.  He was very thin, flea-infested and dehydrated, but very forgiving and his spirit not broken.  He is enjoying the good life now with good food, exercise, play time with other dogs. He has turned into one handsome little pup.  He loves walks and chasing the tennis ball (very funny), he is constantly presenting his foster with photo opportunities because of his comical nature.  Bat would do best in an adult home or a home with older children that will give him space until he is comfortable.  He is good with other dogs if they are not in his face constantly.  Bat is neutered, up to date on his vet care and just had his teeth cleaned.  For additional information about Bat, please send an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call 203-557-0361.  To complete an application, please visit www.westportwasa.org and click on Adopt to bring up the online application.

Sparkie Is A Happy Boy

Sparkie

Sparkie
Sparkie. Westport Animal Control

Sparkie truly sparkles. He’s approximately 3 to 4 years of age, and we believe he is an American bulldog-pointer mix.  He wants to meet everyone and be the center of attention at Westport Animal Control (203-341-5076, Elaine Road, Westport, CT).  He walks well on a leash.  Actually, he prances well on a leash.  He’s a happy boy that will make someone very happy if they adopt him.  He has received his necessary vet care courtesy of WASA.

Funfetti
Funfetti. Connecticut Humane Society

Hi, I’m Funfetti! I’m a calm, quiet girl who enjoys taking walks outside. Most of the time you’ll find my nose to the ground. I can’t help it though, there’s always something good to smell! I’m pretty laid back and would be just as happy to go for a hike as I would be to curl up on the couch and watch movies with you. Oh, and I love a good back scratch, too! I have not had much experience with kids, but I am willing to consider a home with children who can be gentle and respectful of pets. If you would like to meet me, please familiarize yourself with Connecticut Humane Society adoption requirements and come visit me at the Westport Branch of the Connecticut Humane Society!

Prince Michael Is An Indoor Cat

Prince Michael

Prince Michael
Prince Michael. Connecticut Humane Society

Meet Prince Michael! This young man is possibly one of the most affectionate and loving cats you’ll ever meet! He absolutely enjoys being petted and will not only tell you he wants you to pet him, but will head butt your hands and legs so that you will cater to him. His experience with children is unknown but it is possible that he would enjoy the company of children who will shower him with tons of love and play time. Prince Michael is FIV positive and MUST—for his safety and the safety of other cats—remain an indoor cat. He can ONLY live with cats who are also FIV positive and would prefer a home without dogs. Lastly, Prince Michael is litter box trained. If you would like to meet this fearless and extremely friendly young man, please come down to the Westport Branch of the Connecticut Humane Society to do so!
