Molly is our resident LBD (little black dog). She’s a terrier mix, at 2 years old she’s around 11 pounds. Molly loves to play and especially loves to chew on her nylabone. Save Our Strays took her from a local shelter in August of 2015 in hopes to find her a forever home - and we’re stumped as to why she hasn’t been adopted yet. She’s great with children, other dogs and fine with cats. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines as well. Seeing that she’s a LBD, she doesn’t photograph really well, but you can take our word for it - she’s ADORABLE. We feel this may be why she has been looked over. Come give our special girl a chance!

Buttons is back! She is a 4-5 year old Shih Tzu mix who was with our rescue for some time but was adopted by a wonderful family. Due to progressing human health issues she came back to stay with us a few months ago until her forever is found. She’s a sweet dog who loves being held like a baby, although she does have trust issues with men initially. Unfortunately she can come across as fearful at first, but once she knows she can trust you, she’s nothing but love! Patience is key when it comes to men, but a man-free household would be great as well! We know the right family is out there, we’re hoping they come along soon! To Find more information about adopting Buttons, visit Save Our Strays or call 203-255-0514.

Samantha has been with Save Our Strays since July of 2015. She was left at a local shelter one day when her family decided they were going to trade her in for a younger model. At around 8 years old this girl still has more than half her life to live! She’s the sweetest thing, a bit shy at first but loves to be pet and will roll on her back for belly rubs once she realizes you’re trustworthy. She is a beautiful black and white Domestic Short Hair cat with big green eyes - and - get this - she’s mute. She barely makes a sound. She is in excellent health and really, truly deserves the best home.

Hi, I’m Funfetti! I’m a calm, quiet girl who enjoys taking walks outside. Most of the time you’ll find my nose to the ground. I can’t help it though, there’s always something good to smell! I’m pretty laid back and would be just as happy to go for a hike as I would be to curl up on the couch and watch movies with you. Oh, and I love a good back scratch, too! I have not had much experience with kids, but I am willing to consider a home with children who can be gentle and respectful of pets. If you would like to meet me, please familiarize yourself with Connecticut Humane Society adoption requirements and come visit me at the Westport Branch of the Connecticut Humane Society!

Meet Kitty! Kitty may be a senior gal but she is very young at heart. She is a loving and affectionate lap cat who occasionally enjoys chasing and pouncing on toys. Kitty may not have had much experience living with children but may be willing to live with children who are respectful and gentle with pets. She may also be willing to share her home with other pets and is litter box trained. If you would like to meet this beautiful gal, please come down to the Westport Branch of the Connecticut Humane Society to meet her!
Meet Prince Michael! This young man is possibly one of the most affectionate and loving cats you’ll ever meet! He absolutely enjoys being petted and will not only tell you he wants you to pet him, but will head butt your hands and legs so that you will cater to him. His experience with children is unknown but it is possible that he would enjoy the company of children who will shower him with tons of love and play time. Prince Michael is FIV positive and MUST—for his safety and the safety of other cats—remain an indoor cat. He can ONLY live with cats who are also FIV positive and would prefer a home without dogs. Lastly, Prince Michael is litter box trained. If you would like to meet this fearless and extremely friendly young man, please come down to the Westport Branch of the Connecticut Humane Society to do so!

Lexus. Save Our Strays Inc.Lexus is a sweet, 2 year old, male tabby cat who seems to be pretty mellow. He has beautiful bright yellow eyes and perfect tabby markings. Lexus is neutered and up to date on all shots. He really deserves a loving home so please come in to meet him!
UPDATE: Lexus recently went to a foster home. Unfortunately the family was hoping that one of the family members who was allergic to cats was now better and they were not so Lexus had to come back to the shelter, they said this. “...I want to make sure you all know is that Lexus (or “Lex” or “Lexi” as the family has already taken to calling him) is an amazing cat. ...He is brave, curious, affectionate - we are calling him the quintessential cat. After a couple of hours of chilling out on his own, getting accustomed to the noises and quirks of our household, he ventured out and about to check out the family & the environment. He started coming up to us, looking to curl up on lap or otherwise nearby one of us, sought after petting, etc. He started chatting with us by late last night as well, meowing away (not too much at all, just occasionally enough to let you know he’s nearby). He loves exploring, and had a great time finding closets and bookcases, among other little nooks and crannies. He did wonderfully with the kids - allowing petting, not getting scared by some classic loud little boy banging (curious & cautious, but not scared), and when he had enough, he simply left - no aggression in the slightest. He took to the litter box without a qualm, communicated with us when he was hungry - he really is the perfect cat. I hope a family without the allergies we have in this household shows up looking for a perfect cat - and finds Lex.”
