Westport’s 4,390 registered Republicans will have the chance at five polling places throughout town Tuesday to help decide whether businessman Tom Foley or state Sen. John McKinney will face Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, the Democratic incumbent, in November.
According to Kevin White, the town’s Republican Registrar of Voters, the polls for the Republican primary will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., “depending upon where people reside,” at Saugatuck Elementary School, Green’s Farms Elementary School, Long Lots Elementary School, Coleytown Middle School and the Westport Library.
In addition to challenger McKinney’s race against party-endorsed candidate Foley, others will face off for lieutenant governor and comptroller.
Penny Bacchiochi of northeastern Connecticut, the party-endorsed candidate for the No. 2 spot, will face Heather Somers of Groton and David Walker, a Bridgeport resident aligned with McKinney, White said.
