A hydraulic fuel spill today on the I-95 exit 17 northbound ramp caused a shutdown of the ramp, according to fire officials.
A five-gallon container was found on the roadway and appeared to be the cause, according to reports from the scene.
Firefighters believe the container may have fallen off the back of a truck.
Representatives of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) were summoned to the scene, fire officials said.
